I am starting a new project to develop a set of interactive pages related to the phases of the Moon. In this first post, I am adding the first iteration of a page that prompts the user to place images of the typical eight named moon phases on a diagram, using their understanding of how the Earth’s shadow casts on the Moon as it revolves around the Earth in it’s approximately 29 day cycle.
Here is the first version of Moon Phases.
Next up — incorporating a cool WebGL animation of the lunar cycle into this or another page, and finishing a page where the user can move the moon to different positions relative to the earth to see the resultant moon phase.
